The most recent Version 7 source distribution of DDSCAT is available from
http://www.astro.princeton.edu/~draine/DDSCAT.html
Binary Windows distributions 7.0.7 October 28, 2008
Notes:
Save one of the files above and use "winzip" (for example) to unzip. New directory will be created.
Use "mingw" distribution if you are not familiar with UNIX/LINUX and do not have CYGWIN (http://www.cygwin.com/) on your Windows machine. This version was compiled with the Fortran g95 minGW version (http://ftp.g95.org/g95-MinGW.exe) and is "windows native". Thus, it doesn't require any additional libraries. To run "ddscat" do the following:
start/run
type cmd to open a command window
copy ddscat.par and diel.tab to same directory in which you have executables (such as ddscat.exe)
execute (type) ddscat.exe
Use "cygwin" version is you are familiar with UNIX/LINUX. This version was compiled with the g95 fortran under CYGWIN, which provide very good UNIX emulation on Windows (http://www.g95.org/index.shtml). Once you open a Cygwin window you will be able to execute "ddscat.exe".
./ddscat.exe
Just remember that it requires 2 files "ddscat.par" and "diel.tab".
